Planning consent secured for 25MW Church Farm battery storage project - Enray Power

Enray Power has secured planning consent for a 25MW battery energy storage system (BESS) at Church Farm, near Willoughby on the Wolds in Rushcliffe Borough, Nottinghamshire.

Planning consent was granted on 24 September 2024 for the 1.2-hectare development, which will provide additional energy storage capacity to support the flexibility and resilience of the electricity network.

Designed with the local environment in mind

The Church Farm project has been designed to sit within its rural surroundings, with landscape planting incorporated into the proposals to help screen the development and integrate it into the wider landscape.

The approved plans are expected to deliver measurable improvements to biodiversity across the site including a 30.31% biodiversity net gain in habitat units.

These measures reflect Enray Power’s approach to developing energy infrastructure that considers both the long-term requirements of the electricity system and the environment in which our projects are located.
